G2 PeaksTrip 3 – 1 Peak (5/50)

South Carolina – Sassafras

The girls all met at Charlotte airport on February 23, 2021 for a quick 24 hour trip

knocking South Carolina off the list! We picked up the van and hit the road towards

Sassafras Mountain. At 3566’ and 5 miles, Sassafras was a beautiful, nicely trailed

and fairly steady inclined hike. Another beautiful day for G2 and we had a great flat

rock to have lunch on at the top. After our usual photos we hustled down, hit the

road back to Charlotte to have dinner with one of Dana’s friends at a biergarden in

Charlotte called Olde Mecklenburg Brewery – such a fun place that I really want to

go back to.
